SILVER (JACOB), bookseller and publisher in Sandwich, Kent, 1726(?)–1739(?). Mentioned in an advertisment in the Kentish Post of Wednesday, March 23rd, 1725/26, as selling The Merchant's and Trader's Daily Practice in Writing, Arithmetick &c. by Thomas Lydad, Teacher of Merchants' Accompts &c. at Margate. In the same year he published a Sermon preached by the Rev. de Gols, Rector of St. Peter's, Sandwich. On March 17th, 1738/9 he advertised in the Kentish Post a sale of books. The date of his death is unknown, but he appears to have been succeeded by Samuel Jacob (q. v.).
