An enlarged version of the full text, with 51 songs, was published in Brooke's collected works in London in 1778 as 'Little John and the giants', and a shorter version with 34 songs in his poetical works in Dublin in 1792 as 'Jack the giant queller'
The work entered in the records of William Bowyer at 11 April 1749, for Dodsley and himself, 2 sheets, 500 copies printed. Bowyer (and Dodsley?) paid $L1.1.0 for the copyright; a receipt for the payment is printed in The correspondence of Robert Dodsley, 1733 1764, ed. James E. Tierney. , 1988, p. 516 (8 April 1749; BL MS Add. 38728, f. 108).
