A translation, by James Mabbe, of: Alemán, Mateo. Aventuras y vida de Guzmán de Alfarache, which was originally published in two parts as Primera [Segunda] Parte de Guzman de Alfarache.

In Mabbe's Second part passages occur which are only to be found in Barezzo Barezzi's Italian translation--cf. James Fitzmaurice-Kelly's introduction to The rogue, 1924 (The Tudor translations, 2nd series).
