The first page contains the royal command to Henry, Lord Bishop of London, and is dated and countersigned: "Given at our court at Kensington, the first day of January 1690/1, in the second year of our reign. By His Majesties command, Nottingham."; the second page a similar command to the Lord Mayor of London; the third page a letter to "Good brother", an appeal for contributions, dated at head: "Jan. 4th. 1690/1." and signed: "H. London."; the fourth page bears two letters signed "Tho. Pilkington, Mayor. H. London."
