Printed at Rotterdam by Leers; some copies of the edition were provided with a title page containing the above imprint for the London market; title page bears printer's mark of Leers.

The fragments purported to have been found at Belgrade and printed in italics in this edition are a forgery by Franois Nodot. His letter to Franois Charpentier, president of the French Academy, announcing his "discovery" of the fragments, is printed on *3v-*6v.
