Half-title: 'The journals of the House of Commons. Vol.XII'

"The journals were not printed by the House itself until 1742. It was then resolved to print those for 1547-1741, being volumes i-xxiii. .. When in 1756 it was resolved to print to the end of the then session, i.e. volumes xxiv-xxvii, work on the first twenty-three volumes wa still incomplete. Only six volumes (ii-vii) were out by 1759, it was not until the printing of volume xxviii, finished by March 1762, and bringing the record down to 1761, that the retrospective volumes were complete and the printing was brought up to date."
