Parts 1 and 4-5 concern the environs, parts 2-3 the metropolis

Parts 1-2 dated 1796; part 3 1797; and parts 4-5 1798

The preface to part 1 states that the work "will comprehend a description of London and the circumjacent country ... it will consist of eight parts, making two large quarto volumes, ..."

Pagination reflects the division of environs and metropolis: parts 1 ([8],64p.) and 4-5 ([4],65-216; [4],217-424p.) = environs; parts 2-3 ([4],72; [4],73-224p.) = metropolis.
