The titlepage to vol. 2 bears the statement: "Bell's second edition" and the imprint: Edinburg: at the Apollo Press, by the Martins, anno 1784; that to vol. 3 has the imprint: Edinburg: at the Apollo Press, by the Martins, anno 1777.
Vol. 3 also has an additional titlepage, engraved, headed: 'Bell's edition. The poets of Great Britain complete, .. Butler volume III. ..' and is also dated 1777.
