Each number is in printed wrappers containing title, advertisements, and often errata, and is continuously paged and signed. No. 17 of v. 1 ends on p. 272 with "The end of part first"; p. [3-4] of wrappers to that number contain the "Contents of the first or general part of the Summary .." - Title varies. The author's name appears in full on title pages of numbers after no. 24 of v. 1. The words 'with some transient accounts of the bordering French and Spanish settlements' appear in no. 1-22 of v. 1 only.
Numbers in v. 2 have imprint: Boston: Printed and sold by Daniel Fowle in Queen-Street; where may be had the first volume bound or stich'd. also some odd numbers to compleat imperfect setts. 1750.
No. 26 of v. 2 is advertised as "this day .. published" in the Boston Evening Post of Nov. 6, 1752. "N.B. As Dr. Douglass, the writer of this history, died the 21st of October,--it is uncertain, whether there will be any more published, as there is not copy prepared for the press to be found. .." No more published.
